Why is it that we now face a new digital divide where more than 80% of the people who are online fail to develop digital literacy? Why do we find it so hard to use Web 2.0 tools?

Fantastic video, John!

Here's a question - How do you get people to be "engaged?" Answer - You take time to nurture them. You do it in small groups rather than large, because individuals need individual attention. That is easier to do when small groups get together.

Now, once people become convinced that they need to be "engaged," what are some of the online resources which can help them? How about Skype? People need to be able to call and instant message other folks. With Skype, you can do both. What about Jott.com? One call to a toll-free number and you can reach folks on Twitter, groups, 30 Box calendars and more. What about Squidoo? Make as many Squidoo lenses as your heart desires and get Squidoo Groups to spread your message. What about Facebook - possibly the largest social networking site in the world?

But, perhaps most importantly, how can you ask questions to the online world and get reliable answers from real people you do not even know (not computers) that meet your needs...within just FIVE MINUTES? The answer is Aardvark.

Do we have the skills and confidence to make the best use of online tools? I think not. We have to change ourselves to engage in the use of the Internet in a productive way. We need to be active in how we interact with other people and in asking questions about the things that interest us. The pursuit of answers to open questions is how we grow. We need to develop confidence in our changing view of who we are and how the world works. Team Circle is but one small aspect of that process.
