Delighted to receive a call recently from a local business owner who has branched out and started franchising his business. He's a great guy, lots of experience running this kind of business, and has some great systems in place for his franchisees.

He also faces that age-old problem - how to instill in his franchise buyers that they are running their own business now and have great freedom to make it as successful as they wish - if only they grab the opportunity and make the most of it.

Buying a franchise has often been referred to as "buying a job". At some level, it can be like that, as can any business that one starts. The value comes from taking on a business owner mindset - and running the franchise like it is the asset that it is - not somewhere to go to and act like an employee!

I do admire the work that the franchisor has put into developing his product, making proven systems available to his franchisees, and fantastic back-up support. Now it is up to the franchisees to make it happen.

No matter how good the systems, at the end of the day, it is the quality of the effort that the franchisees put into their business on top of the systems they have to use, that will reflect the quality offer that the franchisor made available.

I ran a workshop for the franchisees last Friday. Went quite well, and I have learned about another business model and specialty. I do love that!

Client is pretty good at providing complete backhouse support and marketing assistance for franchisees. I'll check on the newsletter. He's providing a coaching element so that's a good start and indication his intentions toward his franchisees is good!

Congratulations Lindy.

To reinforce "This is your business" in franchisees .... I wonder if your client has considered a "Success Tips" newsletter a coiple of times each month.

As always ... My facilities are at your disposal.

Let me know if you would like me to mention this in my postings. I'd be glad to help with the buzz.

Go with God.
