Yup making out the difference between a bot and an actual person can be tricky sometimes.

Some indicators for me when someone is spamming? "Get 10,000 followers" and the like. Gone. Auto spam DMs from websites - Sorry, gone.

On the other hand, I don't unfollow people necessarily if they are not following me. I rarely check, but if I do and they are not active, I might unfollow them. If they have obscene avs or tweets, I will probably unfollow them. Depending on the case, I may block them, because I am more interested in my av not showing up on a spammer or porn site, than I am in whether people are following me. I'll follow someone if they are interesting. Regardless of whether they have the good sense to follow me. ;-)

Lindy, I just saw you had asked me "what is the value of their spam even if they follow me back"...regarding following spam followers. Well, that depends on what you view as spam. If a marketer is using twitter to market their products, does it make them spam or someone trying to make money through their business? We obviously all have a business here on Teamcircle.....so we are also obviously all trying to make a buck through social networking. The value is just showing a bit of respect by following them back if they are following me and they are an actual person...not a "bot". I have actually implemented using "Tweet-spinner" for the last couple of days to help remove the hundreds of DM's sent to me that may come from "spammers" and of removing people who showed me to be following them but they stopped following me back for whatever their personal reason was. How do we actually place a "value" on anyone's business whether its a marketer...a breeder....a shop owner or a salesman in general?? "Value" is in the eye of the beholder. It is not up to me to judge what the "value" is of someone's business.

If they offer something I'm interested in buying...then of course, their business holds value to me personally and so on.

Yes, I see what you are saying. "Better together" works. Facebook, Twitter and Squidoo all connect to each other in various ways. We should take note of their example and each apply it to our own unique situation.

For example, look at what Examiner.com is doing. It is picking up journalists from all over the USA as newspapers fail due to the lack of advertisers. Journalists are contributing content to the Examiner and getting paid the same way Squidoo rewards lensmasters. Today, the key concept to survival in the "New Innovation Economy" seems to be collaboration. Just look at the name of this network. Like you said, "It's called TeamCircle for a reason." It's here for "the team" - not just the individual. If you don't have a "team," you are not likely to benefit from being in the Social Media Space. It simply does not work to go solo online. You need to be on a team.

That's what I see TeamCircle for. Fort Apache. Go out do the thing. Come back and plan the strategy and the next sortie...

This is called TeamCircle for a reason. There is plenty of options to build as much of your personal resources here as you like, and use it as a platform to martial your friendforce from whatever platform they are on. Some will just be on one network, others may be on several, it doesn't really matter, so long as you can reach easily the ones that are networking with us and want to build closer ties. We have the perfect environment here to do that. Come and go as you please, but if you focus your quality content, then it multiplies the potential to use it in different ways ( like google picking up your blogs, and your blog appearing on your profile Page, as well as the Team blog page), featured member opportunity, FB and Twitter link love. All that. Links back to your sites.

We have not even scratched the surface yet.

Lindy,

That Lunch.com site is very clever. I suppose the challenge becomes weaving these various tools - like Ryze, Twitter, Lunch, Facebook, MerchantCircle, Squidoo, Aardvark, etc. together. Is that what you are doing? Or, do you see each as working best independent of the others?
