Home For Your Personal Network Circle -- Grow Your Team!

I've been considering putting together some ebooks, since they are an essential toolkit for any business owner to have and share their expertise. As I've pondered the topic, it occurs to me that there is no shortage of material available. Making it accessible is the bigger issue.

And I got to thinking about each and every member on TeamCircle and thinking what their ebooks would look like, and what would be contained within their pages... and what would have to happen for the members to have created their own ebook now and promote on their site and collectively, what a great bank of information that would represent.

So here's what I came up with. I am happy to work with members to bring their ebook to life. I am guessing we may have some VAs who might lend a hand too, and my challenge it to the members to step forward if they think this is something that they are ready to do now, and get this turned into a project. If there is an interest in this, I'll probably start a group so we can work on some ideas collectively, as well as individually.

Post your interest here, and let's get started!

Excellent!

Jeremy do visit some of the other members. I'm sure your expertise will be appreciated on TeamCircle. Make yourself at home and don't be shy if you have some ideas or suggestions to share.

What an awesome idea! I have a great product but we are still in the education phase so an e-book could be a great way to educate!

Lindy,

You sent me a request to be apart of this. At this time (5 am) my brain is just getting going. But I have been researching doing audio and video ebooks for my new site http://www.tearsofjoystories.com. My idea is record peoples stories and do a series of Audio and video ebooks with a collection of these stories. But it looks more like you want more of a written book here. I suppose I could write a chapter for you about doing video. One of my contacts on facebook said I should do a class on video-teaching people how to create videos for their website. But I have so many projects brewing right now, it would have to be a few weeks till I get to it. When would you need it by?

No, Cathie the idea is for each to have created an ebook for their own business.

I think that we should look at a combined ebook from the Team though some time down the track.

Does it have to be a written book? Can it be an audio or video ebook? Of course my expertise is video.

I think there is scope for members to each produce one or all of these:

ebook

podcast

video

Now wouldn't that be a great thing, if every member was to have these in their toolkit for their business?

Okay, who else wants to get their ebook off the ground?

Post your name here if you do.

I was thinking of creating a ebook and offering it on my website if they order products online. It would be a combination of the blogs I have already created about ideas of how to create different types of montages

The problem is that so many folks are not having success with ebooks anymore these days, being that so many ebooks having been available over the last few years which are of such low quality, that people were being let down and have lost interest, totally. I think the ebook model is slowly dying, if not already dead.

Why not instead offer the same valuable information in a guided format, like online tutorials or subscription-based ezines/blogs?

Or video or podcasts? I think Cathie may have a point - I'm pretty sure we're beyond the average non-techie Jane Doe being afraid to download and watch videos/podcasts. In fact, many people listen to podcasts on their iPods while commuting to work, exercising, etc. Plus the video iPod is going to be probably more affordable in 5-10 years anyway, why ride something that's probably being phased out (ebooks) when we could jump on something that's still popular?

The ebook is dead: An Interview with Aaron Wall of SEObook

On the other hand, being able to print off a report on paper is still a valuable way to get across information and download it quickly, give instant access, etc. People will still download and read .pdf versions of best-selling novels and self-help books, etc., but in the business world, I wonder how popular ebooks still are?

I've gotten some crap ebooks in my day, and they're still out there. Perhaps the way to go (successfully) might be to call them something else... a "special report" or "free guide to ______". Make sure the content is valuable, worth downloading, and create some buzz around it, then offer it. Else, ebooks are like many other things online...a waste of time for both parties (IMHO).

How are the e-book projects going? Lindy this was a great idea. I actually just published my 2 e-books as part of a s-part series "You & Your Virtual Assistant" This was an end of the year and new years venture.

I would like to offer my services and help out, I understand this too was part of the project?
